About

Hopefully this section of our website will answer a lot of the questions you have about how we do things, our body of believers, our coaches and what drives us. As you peruse, if questions come up, we would be more than happy to answer them to the best of our abilities. We invite you to attend the Vineyard 101 class where we will discuss the topics below in an interactive setting. Check the [what's happening] page for more information on the next class.

What to Expect
It's always a bit awkward going somewhere new for the first time. We understand and try to make being a newcomer an enjoyable experience. A typical Sunday Gathering will look something like this: [photos]

– come
We invite people to come a little early and grab a cup of coffee and hang out. Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. For most people that's Casual.
– sing
We usually start the gathering with about 25 minutes of simple songs designed to help you connect with God. Feel free to sit or stand anytime. Again, the important thing is to be comfortable.
– welcome
We tell you about things going on and what's coming up. This is the time the kids usually take off to class. They have much more fun there.
– give
For those who value the mission of Jacob's Well Vineyard and of giving a portion back to God, this is a time to give.
– teach
One of our staff will give a 30 to 35 minute talk on applying God’s truths to life’s challenges. [ recent teachings]
– finishing out
We end the gathering with a prayer and that's it. We'd love it if you'd stay for a while for coffee and to get to know some people. Prayer Teams are available to talk and pray with you and someone will be at the Information Table to answer any questions you might have.

Beliefs
While not all Vineyards look the same in the way that we express our faith, we all do hold to a common set of doctrines. Jacob's Well Vineyard stands firmly in the center of orthodox Christian teaching. Out of loyalty to Christ and the gospel we have come to a number of convictions concerning the clear teaching of the Bible. At the same time, we have not included in our statement of faith much that can be legitimately debated by orthodox Christians. In other words, we do have boundaries, but our boundaries are broad and inclusive. On the spectrum of Christian churches:

* We are orthodox.
* We are evangelical.
* We are empowered evangelicals.
